Earlier, the Bing team at Microsoft had asked for photo submissions that portray the essence and beauty of American cities through the Bing Hometown Homepage Contest. The best photo gets to be featured on the Bing homepage for a day.
The submissions are in and the team has listed out their top ten favorites, inviting users to vote for the best one and see it on the homepage on October 1, 2013.
I have to admit, the photos are breathtaking and beautiful! From the Niagara Falls to the Manhattan Skyline, from Colorado Springs to scenic ocean waves at Kalapana, they’ve got it all covered.
Starting today, users can vote for their favourite photo through the Bing Homepage Photo app on Facebook. The winning photo gets featured as the wallpaper on Bing homepage for the day of October 1st.
But that’s not all; the photographer behind the winning photo wins a variety of additional prizes, including a Nokia Lumia 1020, a CanvasPop print of the photo and a one year Awesome account membership, courtesy of 500px. The Bing team also will make a special trip to the winning hometown to perform a day of service with The Nature Conservancy.
If you asked me about my favorites, the photos depicting the beautiful Chicago skyline and the snow-laden path at Boise would be the answer.
Which of the finalists would you like to see on the Bing Homepage? Visit the app now to vote!
