Bing Search will now power Yahoo Search in India and 5 EU countries

It was just last week that Yahoo had announced that they had transitioned their algorithmic results to Microsoft in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, New Zealand, Peru and Venezuela.

This week, 6 more countries have been added. Now Yahoo searches in India, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom will also be powered by Bing.

Says Kartik Ramakrishnan, Vice President, Search Engineering, Yahoo!

As always, our top priority is to provide a quality transition experience and we are working closely with local teams to understand the specific needs of each country. We will continue to keep you updated as we expect to transition additional countries across Europe and Asia in the coming months.

This brings the total to 17 countries:  Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada (English), Chile, Columbia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Spain, the United Kingdom, United States, and Venezuela.

IMO, Yahoo Search Results are a bit better than Bing Results. What’s your views on this?

@Bharatmax: Its wrong. The thing is you might have used Bing(India). In India most of the results are blocked due to restrictions(By Law). If you want a better results thru Bing, then use Bing(International):http://www.bing.com/?scope=web&setmkt=en-ww&setlang=match&FORM=W5WA&uid=F3C72A59
